Cuna folk: a conceptual scheme involving the dynamic factors of culture, as applied to the Cuna Indians of Darien

Abstract
This ethnographic account is definitive in the sense that it presents or refers to all known data on the Cuna of the early 1940s. Marshall emphasizes the cultural dynamics as they were actually taking place during that time period, in order to point out the convergence of impact. Marshall uses the hypothetical ethnographic present of 1940, although his field work was done from 1942-1945 when he was stationed in Panama by the United States Army.
