Abstract
This study focuses on the disease of susto in the pueblo fo Teotitlan del Valle. Using a number of research methods, such as case study, psychological interview and examination, complete physical examination and neuro-physiological measurements, the author concludes that susto is 'an illness which is essentially a culturally mediated behavior in response to stress.'
