Abstract
This study seeks to delimit the geographic, linguistic and cultural position of the Popoluca in relation to neighboring ethnic groups. While primarily drawing on new data and oral information collected through ethnographic fieldwork, the discussion builds on earlier commentary by other scholars and travelers, with the goal of inspiring further research through a critical review of where the evidence seems inconclusive.
