Abstract
The subject of this monograph is the relationship among residence patterns, work organization, and kinship in a permanently settled Saami community in Finnmark. The organization of salmon fishing is discussed in detail. The work is based on two years of fieldwork undertaken while Dikkanen was teaching school in the community.
