Abstract
This book, written by a Serbian diplomat, was written to give the Western world a general picture of everyday life in modern Serbia. It is particularly good on history, folk religion, marriage ceremonies and above all on Serbian folk literature. On the latter the author discusses and presents texts of proverbs, anecdotes, songs, epics and folk-tales.
