Abstract
This handbook, a broad cultural survey of the Samoyed peoples of the Nenets, Yamal-Nenets and Taymyr National Okrugs of the RSFSR, was organized according to a prepared outline and includes sections on the Samoyed historical and geographical setting, demography, anthropometry and ethnic classification, languages, social organization and cultural patterns, artistic and intellectual expression, education, religion, communication, labor force and labor relations, public welfare and health, politics, and economic potential. A detailed bibliography appears at the end of each chapter.
