Abstract: Brief abstract written by HRAF anthropologists who have done the subject indexing for the document This article, which was first published in Dutch as a section in a larger collection entitled 'Bali: Studies in Life, Thought and Ritual', provides a first hand account of village life in the Balinese region of Karangasem as observed in 1926.
