Abstract
This account, written by an Englishman, is one of the earliest records of contact between European and Mentaweian cultures. Crisp's observations on the inhabitants and environment of the Poggy or Nassau Islands covers geography, flora and fauna, physical anthropology, food and clothing, weapons, religion, disposal of the dead, inheritance, marriage, and tattooing. The document concludes with a vocabulary listing of some 85 native words.
