The Mayawyaw ritual: VI. illness and its ritual
Journal of East Asiatic Studies • 4 (4) • Published In 1955 • Pages: 1-155
By: Lambrecht, Francis.
Abstract
This article presents a most detailed description of the various healing rites among the Mayawyaw Ifugao. It contains a great number of texts with translations in English. Here, as well as in the other sources in the Ifugao file, no clear distinction between priest and healer ('psychotherapist') could be established.

- Since there is no clear distinction between priest and healer, the researcher is advised to look under both Priesthood (793) and Shamans and Psychotherapists (756). References to death ritual, marriag ritual, and rice ritual (RR) and particular pages refer to 9: Lambrecht, this collection.
