Abstract
In this brief study of the social structure of Morapitiya, a village in the wet zone of the Kandy area, Sri Lanka, Robinson deals with the problems which seem to be present in studies of the Sinhalese kinship system by comparing her findings with those of Leach (Pul Eliya), Yalman (Terutenne), and Tambiah (Rambukkoluwa).
