Abstract
Based on secondary data, this source contains a comprehensive treatment of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region of China. It is divided into three scetions, the sociological, the political, and the economic with specific subjects handled topically. Each chapter is written by a different author. Information is included on all aspects of traditional Mongol culture as well as the cultures of various ethnic subgroups such as the Chinese, the Dagur and Buryat Mongols, the Yakuts, and the Tungus. Policies and programs of the Chinese Communist government up till 1956 are given comprehensive coverage and the authors have a decidedly anti-Communist bias.
