Abstract
During Morse's residence in Japan, he 'sought many interviews with Korean students, attachés of the Korean legation, and others, and in journalistic fashion asked them many questions concerning their country, people, habits, manners, customs, etc.' Information was elicited from them by employing a Japanese interpreter. Further data compiled upon his return to the United States through discussions with Koreans who spoke English and a Korean who was a house companion for several months. There is no indication as to when Morse did his field work. The study was intended for comparative purposes with similar material on the Japanese.
