Abstract
This article is a section taken from the 'Mémoires du Chevalier de Fréminville (1787-1849)', collected by E. Herpin, Paris, Champion, 1913, with the addition of short notes intended to clarify the text. The writer recounts his experiences and observations of Dakar from April to May 1822. The kingdom of Dakar he mentions is very likely that of the Lebu people.
