Abstract
The discussion in this article centers around questions of the future of the San, complicated as it is by such factors as the contrasting ideological orientations between the San and the governments of the countries in which they live, varying degrees of acculturation from outside the society, and diversity among the San cultures themselves. Each of these factors are discussed to some extent in this work.
