Abstract
This book contains a general ethnographic summary of Ganda and Soga culture. Only information on the Ganda is included here. Although traditional culture is briefly discussed, Fallers concentrates on the period following the establishment of a British Protectorate in Uganda. Included is information on history, demography, immigration and emigration, language and literature, land tenure, economic activities, political organization, arts and crafts, family anf kinship and religion and magic. The information in this survey is based on intensive literature research and field work with both groups.
