By: Parrinder, Edward Geoffrey.

Abstract
In this article, Parrinder discusses the polytheistic beliefs of the Yoruba and Ewe and their neighbors. An analysis is made of the nature and attributes of the supreme God worshiped by these peoples as well as their general attitude toward the world of spirits. The influence of Christianity upon the native religions is also noted. Parrinder, a missionary, is the author of 'West African Religions' and was, at the time of this publication, a part time lecturer at the University College, Ibadan, Nigeria.
