This document discusses economic development and social change in Afghanistan with a particular focus on the introduction of the tractor into agriculture and its effects on Pashtun society. The author also emphasizes the significant role that the KHAN (lord or chief) has played, as an agent of cultural change, by introducing the tractor to the Ghilzai farmers.
