AB  - Puccioni was a member of the 1924 Italian scientific expedition to Somalia. This report is based upon field data gathered during the trip, specimens from museum collections, and literary records. It deals mainly with material objects such as dwellings, furniture, utensils, tools, weapons, clothing ornaments, musical instruments and the related handicrafts such as woodworking, basketry, weaving, and metallurgy. Other topics discussed include animal herding, agriculture, hunting, fishing, food stimulants, medicine, social customs, and bodily mutilations. The author also traces the distribution and transmission of various Somali cultural traits among neighboring peoples.
