Abstract
This article is a brief description of the Aljawara people of the Lake Nash area in the Northern Territory of Australia. The data pertain to area occupied, dialect, knowledge about neighboring tribes, and beliefs associated with the origin of 'paths' in Australia. The Aljawara have close linguistic and ceremonial ties with their Arandic neighbors, and in fact their language is sometimes regarded as one dialect of a single language (p. 187).
