Abstract
This source is a detailed description of the various uses to which plants and animals are put by the Papago. Castetter, a biologist, worked with Underhill during her ethnographic field trips to collect botanical materials. It contains information on hunting and gathering, agriculture, methods of food preservation, clothing, weaving and basketry, and the uses of plant and animal products in ceremonial. Included are indexes of the scientific and common names of the plants and animals mentioned in the work.
