Abstract
This book presents partial results of an effort of the Indian Education Research Project to investigate, analyze and compare the development of personality in five American Indian tribes for implications in regard to Indian administration. It is divided into three main sections: a general description of Papago culture by Spicer, a description of child-rearing practices by Chesky; and an analysis of the personality of the Papago child by Joseph. An appendix by Joseph gives personality sketches of eight Papago children.
