Abstract
This is a brief historical account of the origin of the village of Zuni from the sixteenth century to the twentieth, including information on socio-political organization, Zuni-Spanish relations, and quarrels with the Navaho over reservation land. Eggan also presents a short biographical sketch of Frank Hamillton Cushing and his role and work with the Zuni in the late nineteenth century.
