Abstract
There are two objectives in this thesis. The first is to provide an ethnohistory of a relatively poorly covered period in Apache history, from 1888-1930. The second goal is to examine four nativistic movements which occurred during this period in order to test general hypotheses regarding such movements (p. 186). Kessel presents data on the context and development of four Apache cults along with information on the prophets of each movement.
