Abstract
This document is a straightforward narration of what Steward observed while attending the Bear Dance at the Uintah Reservation in 1931. The author describes the activities, participants, degree of participation, and some of the changes in this ceremonial that seems to have lost much of its meaining and importance to the Utes.
