By: Ladd, John.

Abstract
The bulk of this source consists of a complex and lengthy discussion of Navajo ethics in light of Euro-American philosophical ideas. The author seeks to understand the essential meanings of Navajo moral notions, and to interpret for the reader their rationality. A good deal of the source is given over to the author's transcribed field notes of his long discussion with his principal informant.
