Abstract
This is the life story of Peshlakai Etsedi, in which he tells of going with his family on the long trip to captivity at Fort Sumner (Bosque Redondo) on the Pecos in 1867-1868. The editor, an archaeological research assistant, preceded Etsedi's story with a summary of the surrounding historical events. The story itself is given in Etsedi's own words as told through interpreters.
