Some aspects of Navaho infancy and early childhood

Psychoanalysis and the social sciences1 • Published In 1947 • Pages: 37-86

By: Kluckhohn, Clyde.

Abstract
This source presents the generalized results of an intensive study of a group of Navaho children from the Ramah area, as regards certain outstanding features of early life (i.e., cradle practices, nursing, weaning, toilet training, and infant sexuality). It is more detailed on these aspects than 'Children of the People' (2: Leighton) and contains the author's theoretical views on the effect and non-effect of these situations on adult Navajo personality.
