The Yú-ki

Tribes of California, by Stephen Powers ; with an introduction and notes by Robert F. Heizer3 • Published In 1976 • Pages: 125-138, 443

By: Powers, Stephen.

Abstract
Although there may be some useful information in this text most of it is extremely ethnocentric and distasteful. Powers writes in a supercilious, condescending tone, disparaging the Yuki character without once questioning the character of white settlers and ranchers who were systematically raiding and killing Yuki in a seven-year campaign of genocide (see Miller 1975, document no. 13.)
