The Mesquakie memorial feast

Annals of Iowa36 (8) • Published In 1963 • Pages: 591-598

By: Yeast, William E..

Abstract
This source is a short description of a Fox memorial feast for a member of the tribe who had recently died. While Yeast understood little of what he saw, he realized the rarity and honor of a European-American man being invited to such a feast and he carefully noted the details of the ceremony. Most of his account covers what was eaten and how.
