The Indian tribes of North America with biographical sketches and anecdotes of the principal chiefs: volume 2

By: McKenney, Thomas Loraine, Hall, James.

Abstract
McKenney and Hall's work consists of a series of pictures and biographical notes of famous American Indians of the late 1700's and early 1800's. In this source, five biographical sketches have been reproduced. The longest of these chapters concerns Keokuk, a Sauk, who was chief of the combined Sauk and Fox nation. Since the authors do not distinguish between major and minor chiefs, all chiefs have been designated similarly. Footnotes to the text appear at the end of each chapter.
