By: Fairbanks, Charles Herron.

Abstract
In this study, the author divides Seminole history into five periods: that of colonization from 1716-1763; separation from 1763-1790; resistance and removal from 1790-1840; withdrawal from 1840-1880; and the final modern crystalization period from 1880 to the present. Fairbanks then attempts to corroborate the historical events taking place within each of these time frames -- based as they are on written documents -- with archaeological evidence representative of the respective period.
