Abstract
This is essentially an historical source on the Seminole Indians with particular emphasis on their ethnogenesis from the earliest exploratory Creek colonies in Florida in the early 16th century to their modern descendants in the mid 20th. Although much of the historical material presented here has been covered in other works in this file, the stress placed on Seminole 'origins' makes this source a significant contribution to the study of Seminole ethnography.
