Abstract
This document is basically a study of Creek culture change after their removal to Oklahoma territory in the 1830s. Where relevant Innes notes specific changes in Creek life-styles as the result of the removal and makes comparisons to similar customs observed in their original homeland in the southeastern United States. Topics discussed in this article deal with: language, settlement patterns, 'town' layout and structures, technology, clothing and adornment, subsistence, social and political organization, kinship, and religion.
