Abstract
This is a brief study of Cuban exile art in south Florida from the 1960s to the 1980s. The author describes the degree to which Cuban art is accepted by the general public, various art exhibitions in the south Florida-Miami area, and the art styles, themes, imagery, and symbolism expressed in the works of such Cuban artists as Rafael Soriano, Amelia Pelaez, Cundo Bermudez, Carmen Herrera, Mario Carreno, Rene Portocarrero, Emilio Sanchez, and others.
