Blackfeet families and households

Abstract
This monograph, the author's dissertation, is about household composition and inter-household economic cooperation among both rural and town-dwelling Blackfoot populations. It argues that the frequent cooperative enterprise, general patterns of mutual aid, and even co-residence of nuclear family units plus other dependents is a strategy for coping with poverty of resources. Robbins marshalls supporting evidence that this interdependence breaks down as security and level of household income improve.
