Abstract
This article, by a full-blooded Chilkat of the Hlukahade clan, is a synthetic sketch of the growing up of a Chilkat girl, based upon her own experiences. Shotridge concentrates on the puberty ceremonies, and the manners of a well bred young girl. A model of the central part of the Chilkat village at Klukwan, Alaska, is appended.
