Abstract
This article presents a brief discussion of the historical background and performance of the uniquely Serbian institution known as the SLAVA or 'baptismal glorification', as it is practiced by Serbian Americans in the United States. Details of the SLAVA involve the preliminary preparation of foods and drink, associated religious rituals, and social aspects involving music and dancing.
