Abstract
This paper discusses the dynamics of caste interaction in Dhanaura, a village in Mirzapur District of Uttar Pradesh State, India. The discussion is framed with a functionalist conceptualization of the village as a social organism whose continuity is affected by the orderly interaction of interweaving traditional and tribal caste patterns.
