Abstract
This is a study of the architecture and certain arts of the Tonkinese. First there is a section on the architecture, both public and private, sacred and secular, descriptive and historical, including consideration of its relationship to the Chinese. Two similarly oriented sections follow, one on sculpture, the other on inlay work. Dumoutier was Director of Education in Hanoi and wrote numerous papers on Vietnamese ethnographic subjects.
