Abstract
The author, a native of Vietnam and an assistant at l'école Française d'Extreme-Orient, has given a detailed account of the ceremonial character of oath-taking among the Annamites. He describes occasions for oath taking, procedure involved, participants, etc. The material reported does not include professional oaths, legal oaths, or secret societies.
