The status of woman in Korea

Korea review1 • Published In 1910 • Pages: 529-534 [incomplete]

By: Hulbert, Homer B..

Abstract
This is the first of five articles written by a prominent historian of Korean culture. Together they present a very useful summary of the status of women in Korea. The integration between sex and class status is demonstated and the greater freedom and independence of women of the middle and lower classes as contrasted to the upper class are shown. Division of labor by sex is documented. The last four articles in this series are included in Hulbert (1902).
