Abstract
This brief article is a rejoinder to a previous article by Henry Munson on the irrelevance of the segmentary lineage model in the Moroccan Rif. Reinterpretating existing ethnographic information on the Rif, the author discusses some of the context in which this model may or may not capture salient features of Rif social organization.
