Abstract
These songs were collected by the Cerulli from the natives of British and Italian Somaliland. The native texts which are reproduced here represent a number of regional dialects. The translations are supplemented by notes which include ethnological information. Cerulli has written extensively on the languages and literature of the peoples of northeast Africa.
