Abstract
This account is a general source on San culture. The author, a government official stationed in the territory, has attempted to cover a wide range of culture elements and although the detail offered is slight, the number of aspects of San life gone into is considerable. There are data on material culture, economic life and property, marriage, law, war, chieftainship, games, puberty rites, childbirth, sickness and death, medical practices, etc.
