Abstract
This source describes the governmental institutions of the Barotse kingdom and gives an account of the traditional history of the kingdom. From traditional history, and from certain cultural and racial features, the author considers it possible that the Barotse are cattle-breeding immigrants from East Africa who invaded their present territory and subjected the native population.
