Abstract
This is a general, secondary-source culture summary of the Maasai based on material published as late as 1953. While the treatment is necessarily brief, nevertheless it provides adequate general information on the history and the social and political structure of the Maasai. At the same time it points to the gaps and inconsistencies in the published data.
