Abstract
This article is concerned with the Tomàls, the Midgàns, and the Yibirs, the outcaste Sàb tribes of the Somali. It contains data on their physique, language, distribution, and occupations. Special attention is given to the private dialects of the Midgàns and Yibirs. Kirk was a lieutenant in the (British) Somaliland Battalion of the King's African Rifles at the time of writing.
