Abstract
This document recounts socioeconomic and demographic changes that occurred in the Kenyan village of Ngacha as by a public health researcher who lived there in 1968-1973. The most important of these changes include significant improvements in material and child health services, water and environmental sanitation, nutritional status, morbidity pattern, and social and economic status of villagers.The document was originally published as a chapter in an edited volume exploring critical cultural variables affecting parent and child behavior in Ngacha.
