Abstract
This document by a Roman Catholic priest is an excellent descriptive account of village life, daily routine and mission activity among the Shilluk. There are detailed accounts of the history and background of the area, problems and growth of the mission, ceremonies associated with installation of a new king, labor and leisure activity, mission education, government and judicial authority, clothing and adornment. The document also contains a number of life histories, personal experiences and specific incidents which took place during the author's 14 years in the field.
