Abstract
This is an ethnoarchaeological study of a village and its surrounding district in northeastern Iran. The researchers examine the natural environment, settlement and subsistence patterns, building structures, use of building space, kinship relationships among households, occupational structure, marriage patterns, and land use. The authors' goal is to ascertain the relationships between spatial and social organization, and check assumptions in the settlement archaeology literature regarding such relationships. There is good data here on how buildings are built, used, and recycled for other uses.
